a. Pee Wee Division
Often, a family’s first introduction to Little League is in the Tee Ball program. Tee Ball is the entry level division for players League Ages 4-5. The experience is grounded in fun, fitness, and fundamentals while also being a key to growing a child’s love for the game.
b. Instructional (Coach Pitch)
This division is for players League Age 6-7. This is the introduction to the skills needed at each individual fielding position. Players typically will play all positions. This is a coach pitch division
c. Rookie Division
Rookie division is for players League Age 8. This division continues the development of infield and outfield skills, and introduces the with the introduction of Player pitching. Coaches are all
d. Minors Division
Minors Division is for players League Age 9-10. This division is set up as a completely player’s game, and introduces stealing of 1st, 2nd and 3rd base. During the games coaches will instruct from the dugout as the game is played. This is also the first year of Williamsport/District Eligibility.
e. Majors Division
Majors Division is for players League Age 11-12. This division is a continuation of the minors division with the added experience of next level playing rules, including Dropped 3rd Strikes, Infield Fly Rule and stealing home
f. Intermediate (50/70) Division
Intermediate is played on a slightly larger field (50-foot pitching distance and 70-foot base paths). The rules in this division are similar to the 60/90 division (aka full baseball rules), including leading, stealing, pickoffs, and balks. It is open to League Age 12-13.
g. Juniors (60/90) Division
Juniors is based on a regulation baseball field size (60-foot pitching distance and 90-foot base paths). In addition to the larger dimensions of this field, the rules are different from Majors — players are able to take leads and steal on the pitch, and pitchers are allowed to pick off base runners. We typically recommend that 13-14 year olds play in this division, but 12 year olds who are turning 13 next spring (before August 31, 2023) are also eligible, as this may help them prepare for their middle school baseball teams.
Baseball games at this age may be played all or in part with other leagues and at other parks, typically Otsego in Dix Hills.
